As of July 1, 2025, Meta switched from a per-conversation-based to a template-based pricing model, making it simpler to forecast your monthly costs.
You are only billed for outgoing template messages. All incoming user-initiated messages are completely free.
How to classify a template message?
When a user messages your business, a 24-hour customer service window opens. Within this window, you can send any type of message and they're completely free.
Once a window closes, you can only send approved template messages — utility, authentication, or marketing — to re-engage.
